Oret Tours and Safaris organizes One Day gorilla Treks like 1 Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest starting from Kabale or Kisoro towns, both located on the edges of the Impenetrable forests of Bwindi National park. The forest harbors more than 10 habituated groups of Africa’s endangered mountain gorillas. On the day of your gorilla trekking, you will wake up very early and start with a briefing after your breakfast. You will be allocated a group of 8 human beings according to the gorilla family you are going to trek. You will then start to trek into the Impenetrable forest following where the gorillas slept the previous night. These mountain gorillas never stay in one place, they keep moving up the mountain in search of food and water. The tour guides will tend to follow the leftovers of the bamboo trees that have been eaten by the gorillas or even move ahead of you to find out where the gorillas are. When you get to see the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only a maximum of an hour with them, watching how they live their life in their natural habitat feeding the young ones and combing their hair. End of 1 Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest.

Itineraries

Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in Kisoro or Kabale at 6:00 am after breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pick up from your hotel in Kisoro or Kabale at 6:00 am after breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arrive in time for a briefing at the park headquarters. Carry enough drinking water and snacks or packed lunch because the trek is quiet strenuous, and can take 2 – 8 hours depending on how these gentle giants move in their natural habitat. In this case, you are advised to hire a porter (from $10) to assist you during the trek. This is a direct creation of employment opportunities to the local community, and the conservation of mountain gorillas and their habitat.
